T3 Day, celebrating Tommy’s Birthday

Thomas “Tommy” Earl Loid III, age 32, passed away on March 20, 2021. Tommy was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church and attended Bible study at Lehman Avenue Church of Christ. He was a member of the BG/WC Jaycees and also appointee to the Southern Kentucky Fairboard of Directors. He was also a member of the Walking Horse Trainers Association. Tommy was a cowboy in the true sense of the word; he loved horses and worked at several top level Walking Horse Farms. Most of all, Tommy loved his family, especially his kids, Tommy (IV) & Riley.

In 2011, he was in a horrific, single car accident which landed him at the worst level ICU bed at Vanderbilt Hospital. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was given very little hope. Through the power of prayer, Tommy walked out of the ICU days after bring prepared for the worst. We experienced a true miracle and knew God wasn’t finished with his story here on earth. Later that year, he met his now wife (Krista) and went on to have two precious children, Riley & Tommy IV. From an article written about this terrifying experience, the editor writes: ‘The experience changed him. He believes he is a better person now because he no longer puts himself first but instead seeks to do good works simply because they need to be done.

He says it’s nothing earth shattering, just small acts of kindness.’
